Name: Ophelia
Age: Six years old (spring of 2014)
Gender: Female
Genetics: [Samoyed] x [Alaskan Malamute]
Pack: Loner
Personality: Superstitious. To put it lightly, Ophelia is insane. She believes she speaks to the dead--whether she really does or not is debatable. It is a regular sight to see her talking to herself. Actually, it would be strange not to. She thinks everyone is out to get her, suspicious of every stranger. She will probably never fully trust another canine except herself and the ones in her head. She very much believes seeing a black cat cross her path is some sort of omen, and coincidences are not just that. She's quite jumpy and would do horribly in any sort of fight as she's uncoordinated. She usually either scares away the young'uns or keeps them coming back with her odd stories. In general, Ophelia is quite the unique canine.
Unreliable. She doesn't trust others, so she doesn't believe in doing favors. She may even lie to your face and say that she'll do something for you, but end up either forgetting or not caring. Usually the latter. Ophelia rarely feels guilty about anything. If she doesn't like you, she doesn't like you. There isn't much to say about it. She prefers the dead over the living.
Repetitious. Ophelia is extremely forgetful. Not on purpose, but with so many voices circulating through her mind, her thoughts can get away from her. Often times she'll even forget to go find something to eat she's so preoccupied. Because of this, she will do things more than once without realizing it. For example, she'll ask the same question multiple times or tell the same story twice. It can get to be very annoying for some.
Daydreamer. This dog is almost always stuck in her own world. She can sit and stare at nothing for hours, lost in her mind. Ophelia has a bad habit of doing this while others are speaking to her, in turn irritating them. Most of the time they just give up talking with her. She also interrupts others when she had a great thought in attempt to remember it. If she held all her thoughts in, she'd never remember anything.
Blunt. There is no question that Ophelia tells it like it is. She has no reason to do otherwise. She doesn't really care if she hurts your feelings or not. Sometimes, some great, uplifting advice comes out of her. But most of the time, it's pretty insulting. Ophelia is not out to get others, but she really doesn't have a much needed filter. If ever in the need of some truth, Ophelia might just be your dog.
Intelligent. Quite surprisingly, Ophelia is fairly smart. Maybe not socially, but she is great at solving issues and figuring out problems. This side of her is only shown occasionally when an outside-the-box kind of solution is needed.
Height: 21 inches
Weight: 50 pounds
Appearance: This wild white beast is of medium height. She gets most of her size from her Samoyed side. Her giant coat gives her more volume than she actually has. It is almost never orderly--usually she has fur in every which way. During shedding season, she leaves a trail of white wherever she goes. It is especially thick around her ears, cheeks, chest and rump. Her facial features hint to Malamute blood, with sharp ears and a strong look. A dark nose tops her muzzle. A crazed look can be found in her eyes. A long billowy tail curls lightly as she walks. Ophelia has a very clumsy gate.
History: Her history is sort of a mystery, even to her. She has horrible memory and can recall little of her past. Only blurred images of her family remain, but she'd fine with that. Ophelia has no emotional attachment to those who raised her. The volcano's explosion happened when she had already turned one, and past that point she has no memories of her family. Perhaps they perished in the ashy after world of the volcano.
Since she could form coherent thoughts she'd been able to hear the voices of random, dead dogs in her head. Ophelia thought it was normal, so she often spoke about it. All she received were worried looks, bursts of laughter or runaway canines. She shrugged it off when she found it that, no, she was not normal. Maybe she had conjured up these characters in her mind by herself, but she actually believes she can speak to the dead.
Now, she roams the leftover lands on her own. She has no intention of joining any sort of pack or gang--she can do just well on her own, than you very much. Plus, she has all the company she needs right in her head.
