Name: Celyn
Age: 3 years (Summer 2017)
Gender: Male
Genetics: Norwegian Elkhound X Flat-Coated Retriever
Pack: None
Personality: Celyn is a normally joyful dog. Despite the hard journey from Kentucky to Wisconsin, he still retains his optimistic attitude. But don't let that fool you. A joyful dog he might be, but a pushover he is not. He might not look like much, but he can fight, and doesn't have any trouble in doing so. If someone wants a fight, he will go for it. That being said, he's not overconfident about his fighting abilities. He knows his strengths and weaknesses, and he knows that being overconfident can be your downfall. Seeing him down and upset is rare, since he is someone who would rather hide his troubles than let the rest of the world know what's wrong. He is the kind of dog who would rather take on someone else's troubles than confront his own, and will try to fix whatever someone's issue is. That being said, he is not naive, especially not after being on the road for a year. He knows the world is a dangerous place, and that there are many of those who are not kind.
As for relationships, that is where Celyn fails. Not because he's bad at them, but because he has no experience in them, and he is terrified of females. You see, growing up, he was surrounded by brothers, and had no real experience with the opposite sex. So he has no idea what to except from them. He is very chivalrous, and will not hesitate to save a female in distress, whether she needs saving or not. He thinks it's his duty to step in if there is danger, and he will do that. Though from previous instances in the past where he's done that and the females have thrown themselves at him, he will forever think that every female is going to do that. But he is a male though, and is susceptible to the charms of a pretty female.
He does have his flaws though. He tends to see the world though rose-colored glass, preferring to see the good in everything. Like his mother, he can easily be misled. Though he is not naive, it is easy to gain his trust, making it easy for others to manipulate him. He's loyal to a fault, willing to die for those either in need or to whom he feels close too. But he can also be stubborn, though this is not often. If someone has an idea that he doesn't like, he argue that his is better. Not many can make him do something he doesn't want to. He is a diplomat first and foremost, preferring to talk things through rather than fight. Some would say that isn't a flaw, but others would say differently. For Celyn, it's a flaw. He will always seek out the peaceful path before fighting (unless someone is just begging for a fight, then he'll give it to them). He will go to some extremes to keep the peace, though he accepts that sometimes, fighting is the only way.
Height: 23 inches
Weight: 40 pounds
Appearance: Despite being half Norwegian Elkhound, he looks more like his mother than his father, resembling a Flat-Coated Retriever more than a Norwegian Elkhound. His fur is coal black, though he does have a white spot on his chest. It is very silky and despite him being a stray, he is insistent on keeping himself looking presentable. His eyes are an amber brown, the one trait he inherited from his father. To match his black coat, his nails and nose are black. He does have a scar though, despite his best efforts to keep himself looking presentable and to not have any, running from the corner of his left eye to his cheek. He won't tell you where he got it from, though.
History: Celyn was born two years after the volcano explosion, in a small town in Kentucky. His mother was a Flat-Coated Retriever who had turned feral two years prior to his birth. His father was a creepy Norwegian Elkhound who strolled into the town, intending on taking it over. Celyn's mother was manipulated into getting pregnant with the Elkhound's children, who then skipped town afterwards. So his mother was forced to raise six children on her own, though seeing as how all six survived to adulthood, she was a pretty good mother. Either that, or she just got lucky since right after their second birthday, three of the siblings died. Unable to remain living in the town which held nothing but sadness, Celyn decided it would be best to leave. So with his mother's blessing, he set off in an unknown direction. Although he was born a stray and had grown up as such, living in a small town had not prepared him for what lay beyond. The road to Wolf Creek was dangerous, filled with daring escapes (mostly from him unintentionally getting into trouble), rescuing damsels in distress (or at least, those he thought were in distress, and subsequently trying to get away when they tried to seduce him), and just trying to stay alive. But he managed to survive all that and eventually made his way to the town that he hopes he will call home. He did gain a scar in his journey though. The tale is not one of heroics though, a rather stupid one really. He got the scar while hunting a deer, his mind focused on his prey instead of the surroundings. He hadn't been paying attention, and cut his face up with a very thorny bush. If you ask him where it came from, he'll tell you a rather fanciful tale, thinking that it's better to come up with one than to admit that he ran into a bush.
